News Americas, PORT-OF-SPAIN, Trinidad, Tues. April 1, 2014: Trinidad & Tobago Prime Minister, Kamla Persad- Bissessar’s cabinet has lost its second minister in less than a week – both due to bad behavior.

Last night, Persad-Bissessar, announced the revocation of the appointment of Minister of Tourism, Chandresh Sharma, just six days after she fired Minister of the People and Social Development, Dr. Glen Ramadharsingh for disorderly conduct on board a Caribbean Airlines flight from Tobago to Trinidad.

Sharma’s appointment was revoked last night amidst of reports of the assault of his former girlfriend Sacha Singh.

Singh, the managing director of AMS Biotech Security Concept and AmSure T&T Ltd, met with officers of the St Joseph Police Station on Friday last week and gave a statement of Sharma’s alleged physical abuse during an altercation on March 12.

The public information officer of the T&T Police service on Saturday told the Trinidad Guardian newspaper that an investigation was being conducted by the police against Sharma: “Statements were recorded and the investigation is in progress.”

She said “a charge or charges” may be laid after the investigation.

On Monday night, PM Persad-Bissessar said she decided to “accept the resignation” submitted by Sharma adding: “There has been some discussion on the number of times changes have been made in my Cabinet. I say that is a measurement of my commitment to maintaining the high ideals upon which we were elected.”

This is the 12th minister to have been removed from the Cabinet since the coalition People’s Partnership government came to office in May 2010.
