Outside of a few more extravagant numbers, the stars focused on subtle elegance and refined sophistication when planning their wardrobes for the latest Cannes Film Festival. When dressing fashion and cinema icons for the event, designers avoided flashy tones, opting instead for neutral looks in white, black and grey — the dominant shades on the red carpet in Cannes this year. This was the case for L’Oréal Paris spokesmodel Lara Stone, who stepped onto the red carpet in a stunning fuchsia Calvin Klein dress, and for Jessica Chastain, who turned heads in an asymmetrical electric blue gown by Atelier Versace.
