Djokovic To Face Murray In U.S. Open Men’s Finale

News Americas, NEW YORK, NY, Sun. Sept. 9, 2012: No. 2 seed Novak Djokovic of Serbia beat No. 4 seed David Ferrer of Spain today, Sunday September 9th to advance to the men’s finals with a win of 2-6, 6-1, 6-4, 6-2.

“It was a huge relief to get through this match,” said Djokovic. “He’s one of the fittest guys on tour and never gives up.”

Djokovic will now play No. 3 seed Andy Murray of Great Britain in the finals. Djokovic leads their head-to-head 8-6, but the pair have split their four matches against each other in 2012. Djokovic won a marathon five set semifinal against Murray at the Australian Open, while Murray beat Djokovic in straight sets at the London Olympics on the way to the gold medal.
