News Americas, NEW YORK, NY, Thurs. Oct. 13, 2011: Five Latin and Caribbean singers have made the cut as nominees of the 39th annual American Music Awards.
Nicki Minaj and Rihanna are among the nominees along with Pitbull, Enrique Iglesias and Jennifer Lopez.
Minaj and Pitbull unveiled the nominees and were both pleased to read the other’s name off the list.
The Trinidad-born Minaj is nominated for Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Artist and Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Album, while Pitbull picked up nods for Favorite Latin Music Artist and Favorite Pop or Rock Male Artist.
Rihanna is up in the Pop or Rock and Soul/R&B favorite albums categories while Lopez and Iglesias are competing with Pitbull for Favorite Artist: Latin Music.
The awards are set for November 20th, live on ABC.
