Bolt To Take To Daegu Track Again Today

News Americas, DAEGU, Korea, Fri. Sept. 1, 2011: Fresh from a false start disqualification in the 100-m of the IAAF World Championships, the world’s fastest man is set to retake the Daegu track again today, September 2.

Usain ‘Lighting’ Bolt is among those in the heats of the 200-m finals today. Bolt is in heat 2 at 11:18 along with Emmanuel Callender and Mario Forsythe of Trinidad and Tobago and Michael Mathieu of The Bahamas.

The triple Olympian and World record holder, whose false start Sunday stunned many and led to fellow racing partner, Yohan Blake, winning the title, has said he is focused now on the 200-m.

“I know that I am now in good shape and will focus on running well in the 200-m,” said Bolt.

Other Caribbean athletes looking to qualify for the finals are St. Kitts’ Kim Collins and Brijesh Lawrence, Roudy Monrose of Haiti, Brendan Christian of Antigua; Cuba’s Michael Herrera and Jamaica’s Mario Forsythe, Marvin Anderson and Nickel Ashmeade.

Competing from Latin America is Brazil’s Sandro Viana.
