News Americas, Deerfield, FL, FRI. June 7, 2019: While Caribbean immigration to the U.S. was rather scarce in the 19th century, it increased significantly after the Civil War, as black people born in the Caribbean migrating to the U.S. increased by 500% between 1850 and 1900.
