Soca artiste Nermal “Massive” Gosein, sang and produced the song “Rowlee Mudda Count.”

News Americas, NEW YORK, NY, Fri. Jan. 5, 2018: The countdown has begun already to the 2017 Trinidad carnival but one soca song is creating waves already after promoters banned it for being offensive.

Produced and performed by soca artiste Nermal “Massive” Gosein, the song called “Rowlee Mudda Count,” was banned by promoters of the national soca contest because they found it offensive.

Gosein has justified his composition by making the point that songs like Rootsman’s “Oma Account Big,” which took jabs at the wife of former prime minister and UNC leader Basdeo Panday and Crazy’s “Paul, Yuh Mudda Come,” had not been banned.
