News Americas, NEW YORK, NY, Fri. Nov. 2, 2018: The West Indies have ended their ODI series in India with a loss. India humbled the Windies by nine wickets in the final one-day international and took the five-match series 3-1 on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2018.

The West Indies never really got going, batting first in humid and bowler-friendly conditions.

Only West Indies captain Jason Holder, with 25, and Marlon Samuels, with 24, crossed the 20-run mark as their batting lineup folded in just over two hours and just under 32 overs.

India pacemen Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah made early inroads. Kieran Powell was caught behind for a four-ball duck while Shai Hope was bowled off Bumrah, also for a duck.

Rovman Powell put on 34 runs with Samuels but left arm pacer Khaleel Ahmed accounted for him on 16.

Jadeja knocked off Samuels and Shimron Hetmyer, on 9, as West Indies was reduced to 5-57 in the 17th over.

“We lacked consistency in the last couple of games and this was not the finish we were looking for,” Holder said. “A lot of our dismissals were down to poor shot selection. We haven’t batted too well.”

India then bowled out the West Indies for 104 before making 1-105 in 15 overs to record the second biggest win in terms of balls to spare, 211.

The three-match Twenty20 series begins on Sunday at Kolkata.
