Former Trinidad and Tobago Prime Minister Patrick Augustus Mervyn Manning passed away on July 2, 2016.

News Americas, PORT-OF-SPAIN, Trinidad, Fri. July 8, 2016: Former Trinidad & Tobago Prime Minister Patrick Augustus Mervyn Manning is set to be laid to rest following a state funeral tomorrow, July 9, 2016, in Port of Spain.

PM Manning’s funeral comes a week after he succumbed to a battle with the dreaded disease cancer on July 2, 2016 at the San Fernando General Hospital in Trinidad.

A viewing was held yesterday, Thursday, July 7th at the South Academy of the Performing Arts (SAPA) while another will take place at the North Academy of the Performing Arts (NAPA) today, Friday July 8th.

The former PM had been battling Acute Myeloid Leukemia, a cancer of the blood cancer. He was 69. Manning served as the fourth and sixth prime minister of Trinidad and Tobago – between 1991-1995 and from 2001-2010. He did not contest the September 7, 2015 general election.
