News Americas, MIAMI, FL, Mon. June 20, 2011: A 38-year-old Guyanese national could face deportation if convicted to identity theft.

Jophan Porter, who is in the U.S. illegally, allegedly stole a New York man’s identity to get a job as a flight attendant with American Eagle Airlines.

He appeared via video before a Miami judge after being arrested Friday and faced multiple charges, including identity theft and forgery.
The judge ordered him to be held on a $1 million bond.

Officials said he’s in the country illegally from Guyana and will be deported once the case is over.
