Kerron Stewart, Sherone Simpson, Schillonie Calvert, Natasha Morrison were first in a time of 43.70 for Jamaica, much to the delight of the thousands of Jamaican fans who packed the stadium at Ben Franklin Field.
The USA team of Jessica Young, Candice McGrone, Marshevet Hooker, Kaylin Whitney were second in 43.79.
Nigeria’s Gloria Asumnu, Regina George, Dominique Duncan, Ngozi Onwumere were third in a time of 44.22 while Canada and China came in fourth and fifth.
Canada’s Crystal Emmanuel, Kimberly Hyacinthe, Shai-Anne Davis, Khamica Bingham earned a time of 44.37 while China’s Qiqi Yuan, Xiaojing Liang, Huijun Lin, Yujia Tao earned a time of 44.85.
