Mexico raids seized campuses, battle protesters

In this photo taken Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012, a student participating in a student strike walks past protest banners at the Autonomous University of Mexico City, in Mexico City. Students fed up with lost class time are seizing back their campuses, showing little nostalgia for Mexico's radical traditions. This month, about 100 students at Mexico City's Autonomous University rushed the gates of their seized campus and briefly forced out striking students, who later returned with a pickup truck to bash in the gates and retake the school. The two sides are now in talks to end the standoff.
