News Americas, PORT-OF-SPAIN, Trinidad, Mon. Aug. 8, 2011: An earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Ricther scale has shaken St. Lucia.
The University of the West Indies Seismic Research Centre said the quake occurred on Sunday August 7th at 12:01am local time east of Saint Lucia.
It followed by four aftershocks that were felt not only in Saint Lucia but also in St. Vincent and Martinique. However,no damage or injuries were reported.
