News Americas, SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, Weds. Sept. 7, 2011: The search is on for the killers of two Puerto Rican volleyball players who were riddled with bullets on Monday morning.
Police on Tuesday said they still have no information on the killers of Walter Andres Quiles and Wilfredo Sevilla, both 23, who died when they were shot multiple times in the automobile they were driving near a nightclub in Greater San Juan. The two were part of 13 killed after a long and violent weekend.
So far this year, five elite athletes have met violent deaths while 786 people have been murdered so far this year, 117 more than last year.
