News Americas, FLUSHING, NY, Thurs. Sept. 10, 2015: Serena Williams is on a roll and has her eyes firmly set on winning another U.S. Open.

Serena will play Italian Roberta Vinci  tomorrow, Friday September 11, with play beginning at 11:00 AM. Gates will open at   10:00 AM., weather permitting, in the semi-finals of the 2015 U.S. Open for a place in Saturday’s finals.

Her surge towards holding aloft another US Open trophy comes after she beat her big sister on the court in Flushing on Tuesday night.

Venus Williams played well but was not enough for her little sister – the world’s No. 1-ranked Serena – who has won all 26 of her major single matches so far this year.

The score was 6-2, 1-6, 6-3 in over, an hour and 38 minutes of high-quality tennis. But at the end it was Serena who won, making her the greatest female player of this era.

“She has a wonderful mental game,” Venus said afterward, “but she also has the ability to come up with a great shot when she needs it. That’s been the hallmark of her game.”

It’s this hallmark she will bring tonight as she eyes the win once again.
