News Americas, BROOKLYN, NY, Tues. July 24, 2012: It was not exactly “Ninety-Six Degrees in the Shade” at Wingate Park in Brooklyn last night, July 23rd, during the Martin Luther King Jr., Concert.
Emcee Dahved Levy of WBLS was forced to interrupt a Third World performance by Cat Coore (l) and Bunny Ruggs of Third World, and announce that the concert would be shut down “only for a short while ’til the lightening stops.” However, the concert which was supposed to also feature Sparrow, Bunji Garlin & Asylum, never resumed thus disappointing thousands of fans, mainly Caribbean Americans, eager to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Independence for Jamaica, as well as Trinidad & Tobago, despite the rain.
