News Americas Now, New York, NY, Friday, June 19, 2014- A team led by the University of Buffalo is collaborating with Jamaica on the development of programs for study in and treatment of HIV and hepatitis C.

The University of Buffalo team is led by Charles L. Anderson, MD, School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and Gene D. Morse, PharmD, University of Buffalo Center of Excellence in Bioinformatics and Life Sciences and the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences.

One of the first areas in which the University of Buffalo will be assisting Jamaica is the transition from a regional hospital system with paper based records to a national electronic medical record system. This transition is expected to help Jamaica streamline record keeping which is a key objective in the country’s fight against HIV and HCV.

The University of Buffalo is a public research university located in Buffalo, New York and is a part of the State University of New York (SUNY) system.
