News Americas, NEW YORK, NY, Fri. Sept. 15, 2017: The press releases from PR marketing companies that represent most of the islands impacted and devastated by Hurricane Irma have all but stopped. Except for a state of the hotels report from the Caribbean Tourism Organization and the agency for the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association, there is an eerie silence.

This as many remain without the basic amenities including running water and shelter on islands like St. Martin, St. Maarten, the British Virgin Islands, Anguilla and more. The absolute devastation is also heart wrenching but there is no massive rush to donate to any Caribbean fund. Not even by the people who make millions from this region and those who get paid the big bucks to market islands that were major tourist attractions but over night were flattened, decimated and turned into a frightening disaster zone. From Paradise to Hell on Earth is how one newspaper dubbed it. So where are these marketing companies now? We hope they will have a heart and step up to the plate and donate back a small fraction of the profits they have earned in the good times.

We  look forward to being notified of  how the many agencies who represent these islands are helping.
