News Americas, LOS ANGELES, CA, Tues. June 2, 2015: Caitlyn Jenner, the Olympian formerly known as Bruce Jenner, became the hottest trending topic on Twitter yesterday after she was revealed to the world on a Vanity Fair cover and some Caribbean American celebrities and Caribbean nationals are weighing in on the transformation.

Kerry Washington, whose roots extend to Jamaica tweeted: “CAITLYN!!!!!!!!!! Love this. So happy for her” while Cayman Islands-born Selita Ebanks, the former Victoria Secrets model tweeted: “Bye bye Bruce. Hellllooo Caitlyn!!!!”

Haitian-born actress Garcelle Beauvais for her part was at a loss for words.

“Wow!!! I’m speechless,” the former “Jamie Foxx Show” star tweeted.

On Facebook, some Caribbean-born nationals were not as gracious with some asking plainly: “What is going on in America?” while others snidely commented: “I’m never getting drunk again.”

The more religiously conservative insisted: “He and the good Lord will have it out. All we island people knows where we stand on that topic of same sex marriage and sex change.”

But Jenner’s reveal on Monday gave a whole new meaning to the term “break the Internet” as she tweeted: “I’m so happy after such a long struggle to be living my true self. Welcome to the world Caitlyn. Can’t wait for you to get to know her/me.”

Jenner, 65, who fathered 6 children with three different wives before his sex change, reached 1.4 million followers in just 4 hours.
