From December 1-3, 2016, White House Emerging Global Entrepreneur and World Economic Forum Global Shaper, Kirk-Anthony Hamilton, will host the first Tech Beach Retreat in the island of his birth.
The event, described as “intimate” and “tech-focused,” is designed to create dual gateways for business and innovation between the Caribbean and global markets by bringing together founders, executives, influencers and investors to exchange knowledge, ideas, cultivate opportunities and build relationships through a series of panels, networking sessions and speakers from around the world, organizers said this week.
World class keynote speakers at the Secrets St. James Resort event will include Peter Corbett, founder and CEO of iStrategyLabs; Gabriel Abed, CEO of Bitt; Stephan Morais, Executive Board Member at Caixa Capital; and Lajuanda Asemota, Director of Diversity & Inclusion at Singularity University.
The format of Tech Beach Retreat aims to provide a unique catalyst for entrepreneurship and enterprise in an immersive, non-hierarchical environment.
“The Caribbean as a whole has fallen out of the global ecosystem and my goal is to elevate our position so we become top of mind as a business destination, where opportunity exists and great minds meet spurring greater economic activity and growth,” said Kirk-Anthony Hamilton, founder and CEO of the Infiniti Partnership, Destination Experience and Tech Beach Retreat.
“We are thrilled that Kirk-Anthony Hamilton is putting Jamaica on the map as a business destination,” said Paul Pennicook, Jamaica’s Director of Tourism. “Most people have a skewed perception of Jamaica and don’t think about the business opportunities that actually exist here. Tech Beach Retreat will help position our island as a world-class business destination and a prime environment for innovators, entrepreneurs and investors.”
