News Americas, PHILADELPHIA, PA, Fri. April, 25, 2014: Jamaican high schoolers today began their winning streak at the Penn Relays taking the heats in the high school boys’ small schools and high school boys’ large schools competition.

In the High School Boys’ 4×800 Large Schools heat Friday morning, Kingston College, Jamaica was first with 7:54.73 followed by Jamaica College in second place with 7:55.57. Calabar of Kingston also won their large school 4×800 heat, beating back Chaminade of Mineola, NY in a time of 7:42.94.

In the High School Boys’ 4×800 Small Schools, Spalding Clarendon beat out Malvern Prep of Pennsylvania to win the heat in a time of 7:54.39. In the High School Boys’ 4×100 Small Schools Heats, St. Jago of Jamaica won over Cheltenham of PA and St. Elizabeth Tech of Jamaica in a time of 41.42.

They will all compete on Saturday in the finals of the 120th running of the relays at Benn Franklin Field in Pennsylvania.
