Obama’s Apologist-In-Chief!

By Arthur Piccolo

News Americas, NEW YORK, NY, Fri. Feb. 12, 2016: So I get an email from Obama’s big, big time buddy and well paid White House Advisor, aka Apologist Valerie Jarrett.

How did she get my email? Maybe she is an avid reader of Obama’s America?  She should be!

Anyway, thank you Valerie; you provided me this new episode.

What was her message all about? She is bubbling over because her buddy Barack was returning Wednesday, to Springfield, Illinois, where he began his campaign for President in 2007, to reminisce about the Good Old Days as he continued his yearlong Farewell Tour as President.

Here is how Valerie began her message …

“When I woke up on February 10, 2007 in Springfield, Illinois, my heart was full of hope about the infinite possibilities that lay ahead. We knew there would be challenges but we also knew that our country is strong, resilient and exceptional because of the spirit, grit and determination of the American people to constantly work hard to perfect our union.”

Well Valerie, Barack certainly did NOT perfect our union; far from it! These last 7 years of the Obama Presidency, you sure made out like a Bandit.

Valerie continued …

“It’s hard to believe that nine years have gone by since that freezing but bright and sunny day on the steps of the Old State Capitol Building. For many of us, here at the White House and across the country, the President’s return to Springfield today is a walk down memory lane – a moment to think about where we came from and what has happened since. For me, it was also a moment to revisit the vision he laid out for this country when he announced his candidacy for President.”

Valerie, it is hard for all the rest of us to believe how little of what he promised, he delivered. But again, you and Barack and Michelle made out Royally. Yes, it is a walk down memory lane filled with emptiness and disappointment.

For you “it was also a moment to revisit the vision he laid out for this country when he announced his candidacy for President.” REALLY? If so, then you would know that vision was not realized. But you don’t care, do you?

Want some of Valerie’s Fantasy …

“Re-reading his speech, nine years later, with lots of battle scars, and victories, and what feels like lifetimes of wisdom under our belts, is nothing short of amazing. Many of the policy ideas he put forth — from re-shaping our economy to compete in the digital age, to expanding access to broadband, from ensuring workers can share in our economic prosperity, to becoming the generation that finally tackles our health care crisis — have become reality”

Valerie it is the rest of us who have Battle Scars of DISAPPOINTMENT.

She then goes on and on and on for paragraphs, playing the Role of Apologist in Chief for her buddy Barack Obama. It’s depressing; the ridiculous story she tells. She sounds like she has been in a bubble called The White House, where she has big office and a bigger salary.

THEN when she finishes, she includes Obama’s speech from Springfield, Illinois which he delivered on Saturday, February 10, 2007. I remember! I was watching on my computer in a state of later to be shattered euphoria.

Maybe it is her way of being sub-consciously humorous. Regardless, his speech 9 years later is hilarious! Take a look …
“We all made this journey for a reason. It’s humbling, but in my heart I know you didn’t come here just for me, you came here because you believe in what this country can be. In the face of war, you believe there can be peace. In the face of despair, you believe there can be hope. In the face of a politics that’s shut you out, that’s told you to settle, that’s divided us for too long, you believe we can be one people, reaching for what’s possible, building that more perfect union.”

That is good stuff Barack and it gets better …

“And as people have looked away in disillusionment and frustration, we know what’s filled the void. The cynics, and the lobbyists, and the special interests who’ve turned our government into a game only they can afford to play. They write the checks and you get stuck with the bills, they get the access while you get to write a letter, they think they own this government, but we’re here today to take it back. The time for that politics is over. It’s time to turn the page.”

O, yea Barack, you sure have solved those problems. America is so, so much better for the 99% of us. NOT!

And here is something particularly appealing to African-Americans ..

“We’ll have to make hard choices. And although government will play a crucial role in bringing about the changes we need, more money and programs alone will not get us where we need to go. Each of us, in our own lives, will have to accept responsibility — for instilling an ethic of achievement in our children, for adapting to a more competitive economy, for strengthening our communities, and sharing some measure of sacrifice. So let us begin. Let us begin this hard work together. Let us transform this nation.”

TRANSFORMATION Barack? Really?; your Presidency?

YES, there is more from back in 2007 ..

“And as our economy changes, let’s be the generation that ensures our nation’s workers are sharing in our prosperity. Let’s protect the hard-earned benefits their companies have promised. Let’s make it possible for hardworking Americans to save for retirement. And let’s allow our unions and their organizers to lift up this country’s middle class again.”

ENCORE …

“Let’s be the generation that ensures our nation’s workers are sharing in our prosperity…. Let’s protect the hard-earned benefits their companies have promised…. And let’s allow our unions and their organizers to lift up this country’s middle class again”

Alright Barack, you were FILLED with promises in  2007.

“Let’s be the generation that ends poverty in America. Every single person willing to work should be able to get job training that leads to a job, and earn a living wage that can pay the bills, and afford child care so their kids have a safe place to go when they work. Let’s do this.”

BLA, BLA, BLA, BLA, BLA, BLA, BLA ….

Let me just go to his close …

“And if you will join me in this improbable quest, if you feel destiny calling, and see as I see, a future of endless possibility stretching before us; if you sense, as I sense, that the time is now to shake off our slumber, and slough off our fear, and make good on the debt we owe past and future generations, then I’m ready to take up the cause, and march with you, and work with you. Together, starting today, let us finish the work that needs to be done, and usher in a new birth of freedom on this Earth.”

Sure Barack, NO problem; all we have to do is elect you President twice.

NOW let’s fast forward to Springfield, Illinois, Wednesday …

President Obama did not stand out in the cold this time and address a big hopeful crowd. No, he went inside to speak to either the first or second most CORRUPT state legislature in America in a tight race with the New York State legislature for most corrupt in the nation.

Barack came to Springfield to speak before the morally challenged body he emerged from to become U.S. Senator then President. How fitting!

First of all, if anyone does not know what Obama is doing and what every President does in their final months is to spin their Presidency to convince us they did even more than we ever expected and if there is anything they did not do, it is someone else’s fault for what you should not call their failures.

So let’s turn to Wednesday’s speech – one of many Farewell Speeches to come …

Obama begins with a very bad joke – neither he or they realize it is ..

“What an incredible privilege it is to address this chamber. And to Governor Rauner, Senator Durbin, members of Congress, Speaker Madigan, Former Governor Pat Quinn, Mayor Langfelder and the people of Springfield — thank you for such a warm welcome as I come back home.  (Applause.)  Thank you.  Thank you so much.  Thank you.  It’s good to be home.  (Applause.)  Thank you, guys. Thank you.  Thank you.  (Applause.)  It is great to see so many old friends like John Cullerton and Emil Jones.  I miss you guys.”

He misses the dysfunctional corrupt Illinois state legislature. That all by itself tells you all you need to know. Does he chastise them for not getting the job done for the huge failures taking place in Illinois and Chicago? NO, NO, NO …

Rather President Obama tells them …

“What an incredible privilege it is to address this chamber. …thank you for such a warm welcome as I come back home …. I miss you guys.”

HE MUST BE KIDDING.

And then he just goes on and on and on, stroking them with stories of all his own fond memories there. Bla, Bla, Bla and then …

“So I want you to know that this is why I’ve always believed so deeply in a better kind of politics, in part because of what I learned here in this legislature.” ARE YOU KIDDING US?

Then he keeps rambling on.

KEEP IN MIND, Valerie and The White House press machine billed this as some kind of great speech, where he would yet again set out some grand BS vision for America at the twilight of his Presidency . Make it Twilight Zone!

FINALLY, President Obama gets down to “business,” justifying his mediocre Presidency as being in character with Abraham Lincoln.

REALLY?

I will do us all a BIG favor and skip all his BS and go to his close…

“Nine years to the day that I first announced for this office, I still believe in that politics of hope.  And for all the challenges of a rapidly changing world, and for all the imperfections of our democracy, the capacity to reach across our differences and choose that kind of politics — not a cynical politics, not a politics of fear, but that kind of politics — sustained over the tranquil and steady dedication of a lifetime, that’s something that remains entirely up to us.”

THAT KIND OF POLITICS BARACK …

The kind that gives us False Hope as you have done “so well.” Thanks!
