News Americas, LOS ANGELES, CA, Tues. Feb. 16, 2016: Armando Christian Pérez, better known by his stage name Pitbull, last night brought a dance hall classic to the stage of the 58th Grammy’s.

The Miami-born, Puerto-Rico roots singer performed his new song ‘El Taxi,’ a  Spanish cover of the Jamaican dancehall classic ‘Murder She Wrote,’ which was made popular by Chaka Demus & Pliers  in 1992.

Pitbull along with sexy back up dancers and actress Sofia Vergara, gave a hip-shaking performance on the catchy song much to the delight of fans at the Staples Center.

“El Taxi” is on Pitbull’s ninth album, titled, ‘Dale,’ which was released in July last year by RCA Records/Sony Music Latin and went to number one on Billboard’s Top Latin Album Chart. El Taxi also features Latin artistes Sensato and Osmani Garcia. The album last night won a Grammy in the Best Latin Rock, Urban or Alternative album category.

‘Murder She Wrote’ topped Jamaican charts in 1993 and in 1994, it reached number 27 on the UK Pop Singles Chart.
