The Americas Highest-Paid Celebrities Of 2016

News Americas, NEW YORK, NY, Fri. July 22, 2016: The 2016 Forbes list of richest celebrities globally is out again five celebs. from the Americas – Latin America and the Caribbean – have made the list. Here are the five in order of rank/wealth:

1: Lionel Messi

This Argentine footballer may be guilty of tax fraud and using tax havens, but Lionel Messi is the 8th richest celebrity on the planet according to Forbes Magazine and the numero uno in the Americas. The 29-year-old, who actually was diagnosed with a growth hormone deficiency as a child, is worth a whooping US $81,500,000.

2: Rihanna

Coming in at number two on the list and at 13th globally is Barbados-born singer turned actress and entrepreneur, Robyn Rihanna Fenty. The 28-year-old Bajan songstress is truly raking in the dough with a net worth of US $75,000,000. Not bad for a girl who grew up in a three-bedroom bungalow in Bridgetown, Barbados and once sold clothes with her father in a stall on the street.

3: Neymar

In the third spot but only 72nd globally is Brazilian soccer star Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior. The 24-year-old who grew up combining his love of futsal with street football is now worth US $37,500,000 .

4: Usain Bolt

In the fourth spot and 91st globally is Jamaican-born world’s fastest man, Usain St. Leo Bolt. Bolt, 29, who spent his time playing cricket and football in the street with his brother as a child in Trelawney, is now worth US $32,500,000.

5: Gisele Bundchen

Rounding out our top five list but placing at 99th globally is Brazil-born model Gisele Bundchen. Bundchen, 35, who was discovered by the Elite modeling agency at a shopping mall in São Paulo while on a school excursion at age 14, is now worth US $30,500,000.
