Just asking the question is troubling but in fact genius may at times appear to be craziness. But craziness may just reflect a clinically crazy individual. There is certainly not enough evidence to label Donald Trump crazy yet but some of his first acts as President provide potential early evidence. To be more specific – schizophrenia.
First my legal disclaimer. I am not a doctor or psychiatrist and I am not offering any specific medical diagnosis of Donald J. Trump.
That said, here is the first definition of schizophrenia: a long-term mental disorder of a type involving a breakdown in the relation between thought, emotion and behavior leading to faulty perception, inappropriate actions and feelings, withdrawal from reality and turning personal relationships into fantasy and delusion, and a sense of mental fragmentation.
Otherwise known popularly as Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde’s condition!
Donald Trump probably is not clinically crazy but we won’t know for sure for awhile. The fact that the question can even be raised is somewhat troubling. But assuming he is not may not be good for the Democratic Party dinosaurs, aka Elites, based on his Inaugural speech.
Here are some other alternatives diagnosis for Trump: 2) Orwellian, 3) Machiavellian, 4) Delusional, 5) Brilliant, or 6) None of the above.
We just don’t know at this point even if many of us disagree with some or all his policies regardless of what he is or is not.
One thing Trump is, is not boring.
If nothing else, he is far more interesting to watch and follow and write about than Barack Obama. True I had far more than enough material to write about Barack Obama for 311 consecutive weeks – I had 1,000 episodes worth and much more I never got to write – but ONLY for one reason – Obama’s hypocrisy.
He set the tone for his entire Administration the moment he opened his mouth on January 20, 2009, to give his first Inaugural Address and told us all the entire nation in effect he would NOT be the Change Master he promised us he would be that got him elected.
A “throw away” comment Obama made this January 20, 2017, after he left the Capitol to board Air Force One for the final time and speaking to a room full of supporters at the airport he said: “Michelle and I milked this end of my Presidency stuff for all it was worth.” He sure did just as he and Michelle MILKED the Presidency for all it as worth for 8 years.
But I need to STOP writing about Barack Obama – this is now Trump’s America!
Except for this telling lead into Donald Trump’s America episode # 2 …
The fact is, with a couple of pointed phrases removed, Trump’s Inaugural speech could have been given by President Bernie Sanders if Obama and Clinton didn’t screw him out of the nomination.
Even more, this is the kind of speech had Barack Obama given it, he would have inspired the entire nation, made all his many supporters jubilant and set the stage for real CHANGE he didn’t deliver the last 8 years.
Donald Trump’s Inaugural speech was the most memorable and impressive in most of our lifetimes even though many will never admit it; because praising Trump for anything is “forbidden.” I am referring to the speech itself, NOT the kind of actions President Trump will likely take.
The speech itself was masterful and brings me back to where I began – about Trump possibly being CRAZ, because rather than taking that speech and using it to enhance his stature as the new President in the hours and days following, over that weekend he made it “disappear” with his whacky return to his campaign persona, making false claims about the size of the audience and blasting the media and anyone else who disagreed with his lies.
Unlike Trump, I will return to his Inaugural speech because it is instructive, because we need Democrats who can deliver similar speeches while meaning something very different than Trump likely does but that can appeal to a wider range of Americans including some of those who voted for him.
If Democrats don’t get rid of the Clintons and Obamas and the other Clowns who pretend to be leaders in Congress and LEARN from Donald Trump’s and the Republicans victories in November – even if Trump is CRAZY – Democrats will continue to lose to Republicans and elect Donald Trump to a second term as well if the dinosaurs who control the Democratic Party stay in “power” and make the Republicans look “good” in comparison to them.
I can’t say it too often – Barack Obama and Hilary Clinton and the pathetic Democratic Party Elites ELECTED Donald Trump and a Republican Congress. We either get rid of all of them OR we will be living in Trump’s America for a very long time. Is that what you want?
Whether or not President Donald Trump is CRAZY, real Democrats are certainly CRAZY if we don’t create a NEW Democratic Party for our future.
