News Americas, Scioto County, Ohio, Fri. Feb. 14, 2014: A 44-year-old U.S. Virgin Islands national is being held on a $1,000,000 dollar bond in an Ohio House of Horrors case that has already drawn comparison to the Cleveland nightmare perpetrated by late Puerto Rico national Ariel Castro.

The accused, Juan Carlos Sanchez.

Juan Carlos Sanchez is accused of raping two children of his girlfriend, age 9 and 11, in the Collingswood Avenue of Wheelersburg, Ohio.

Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini said the nightmare that was the lives of four children in the home came to light after one of the children sent an email to a teacher via an online learning school called Ohio Virtual Academy, stating they wanted the teacher to call 911 because the victim and siblings were being tied to their beds and beat.

The four children, three girls, ages 2, 9 and 11 years old, and one boy, age 8, are now in protective services after telling investigators they were tied with ropes and chains, and hit with belts and paddles. Two of the children reportedly told investigators they had been sexually assaulted several times.

The sheriff says the children are at a hospital in Cincinnati where the marks and scars on their bodies were consistent with the stories of abuse that included being “tied with ropes and chains to their beds for weeks at a time, sometimes longer, only untied to do school work on the computer.

Sanchez is charged with three felony counts of child endangerment and one felony count first degree rape.

The children’s mother, Bobbi Sue Pack, 31, is charged with three felony counts of child endangerment and is being held on a $150,000 bond while the children’s grandmother, Edwina Louis, 52, faces three counts of felony child endangerment and her bond was set at $150,000.

Detectives say they are also looking for a woman who fled the home when Children’s Services officials arrived. Leah Dillon, 24, is wanted for questioning and detectives say she could be in the Pike County, OH area.

The trio is scheduled to be back in court Feb. 20.
