News Americas, NEW YORK, NY, Fri. July 7, 2017: Thursday was not a good day for West Indies cricket period! Both the Windies team lost their matches – the men losing yet again to India after the one off win Sunday and the Windies women cricket squad losing to New Zealand.

The West Indies batsmen failed again – this time on a much better batting surface – and India chased 206 down with relative ease to seal the series 3-1 at Sabina Park in Jamaica.

The Windies women were restricted to 150 off 43 overs in ICC Women’s World Cup 2017 match as the Kiwi women easily reached 151 for 2 off just 18.2 overs.

Still diehard fans are excited at the announced return of Jamaican cricketer, Chris Gayle, to the squad for the Windies men’s T20 at Sabina Park, Jamaica on Sunday, July 9th.

The left-hander is the highest run-maker for Windies in this format.  Gayle holds the record for most centuries in Twenty20 cricket (18), 11 more than his nearest rival, Brendon McCullum. In fact, he holds the record for scoring the most number of unbeaten centuries in all forms of T20s. (12 out of his 18 T20 centuries have been not out.)

Let’s hope he can turn the fortunes of the struggling men’s team around.
