News Americas, NEW YORK, NY, Fri. Aug. 26, 2016: Are West Indies women outshining their male counterparts in one iconic sport in the region?

Seems that way! According to the latest ICC rankings, the West Indies Women Cricket Team is now ranking higher than the Men’s Cricket team in points.

The International Cricket Council (ICC)’s latest Rankings show the West Indies Women with a rank of number five globally. They also have scored 6,263 points off 60 matches and are just behind India on the top 10 ratings scale.

By contrast, the men’s cricket team is ranked at 8 on the test ranks and the One Day International ranks globally. On the test rank, the West Indies men’s senior squad is behind South Africa with 1,749 points from 28 matches while on the ODI rankings they are behind Bangladesh with 2,808 points from 30 matches.

However, the Windies men are at number three on the T20 ranks, behind India with 2,192 points from 18 matches.
