News Americas, NEW YORK, NY, Thursday January 9, 2014: On the heels of her cover on Elle magazine’s February issue, Actress Mindy Kaling did the David Letterman Show.
Kaling, born Vera Mindy Chokalingam, is known for her part as Kelly Kapoor on the TV series The Office. She recently became the only woman of color to get her own cover on Elle even though media outlets were quick to point out that Kaling ‘s cover was a close up, black-and-white shot — a stark difference from the full-length color photos chosen for the three other ladies who earned covers for the Women in TV issue.
Kaling, a comedian, writer, and producer, make fun of the comments asking on twitter: “Wishing for more skin on my @ELLEmagazine cover?”
As for Elle, a rep from the magazine told E! News, “Mindy looks sexy, beautiful and chic. We think it is a striking and sophisticated cover and are thrilled to celebrate her in our Women in TV Issue.”
