News Americas, NEW YORK, NY, Fri. June 16, 2017: Caribbean-born doctoral candidate, Sheila Newton-Moses, is seeking Caribbean immigrant graduate students who graduated from one of eight Ivy League universities in the US to be a part of her doctoral research study.
The focus is on Caribbean immigrant graduate students’ experiences at the Ivy League universities of Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Columbia, Dartmouth, Brown, Cornell or the University of Pennsylvania.
Newton-Moses is currently a candidate at Seton Hall University in South Orange, New Jersey in the Department of Educational Leadership, Management and Policy, under the Executive Educational Leadership Ed.D. Program.
Using qualitative research interviewing techniques, she hopes to get a better understanding of the academic motivations, achievements, and barriers to success encountered by Black Caribbean immigrant graduate students at the Ivy Leagues Universities in the USA.
To be eligible for the study, you must be at least 18-years old, hold a graduate degree from one of the eight Ivy League USA universities and must be from the Caribbean and belong to one of the following categories: Black Caribbean immigrant; permanent resident or visa holder who migrated from the Caribbean; or Black Caribbean citizen raised and educated in the Caribbean prior to their academic pursuits in the Ivy League.
If chosen to be in the study, you will receive a consent form that will require you to indicate your willingness to be interviewed.
