News Americas, NEW YORK, NY, Weds. Jan. 24, 2018: Caribbean-roots senator Kamala Harris says congress must pull together over the new 17 days to reach a bipartisan agreement to protect Dreamers.

Her comments come as, Harris, whose father was born in Jamaica, voted “no” again Monday on a bill to re-open the federal government, arguing that the budget should have done more to protect 800,000 Dreamers nationally.

Harris, who has been touted as a potential presidential contender in 2020, has pledged to continue to work with fellow senators to find a long-term solution that guarantees a future for young immigrants who are as American as all of us.

And says she will do everything in her power to continue to protect Dreamers from deportation.”

Harris’ stance comes a Donald Trump said Wednesday he will back a 12 year path way to citizenship for Dreamers in exchange for USD 30 billion for a border wall.
