Cricket Legends For New York Match

News Americas, NEW YORK, NY, Fri. July 24, 2015: New York cricket fans are in for a treat this summer as several West Indies cricket legends gear up to play a limited overs match in New York City.

Legendary West Indies Test cricketer Shivnarine Chanderpaul is among the players scheduled for the August 1st set for the Idlewild Cricket Ground at 147th Avenue and 223rd Street in Rosedale, Queens, NY 11422.

Other legends will include West Indies Cricket greats Sir Garfield Sobers, Gordon Greenidge, Alvin Kallicharran, Adam Sandford, Mervyn Dillion, Gus Logie, Deryck Murray, Carl Hooper, Courtney Walsh, Desmond Haynes, Richie Richardson, Darren Ganga, Ramnaresh Sarwan, Mervyn Dillon, Pedro Collins, Corey Collymore, Mahendra Nagamootoo, Larry Gomes, Clayton Lambert and Faoud Bacchus.

The WI Legends will play the NY Legends at 2 p.m. on August 1st.

“Looking forward to the matches in NY. It will be an opportunity to interact with teammates and produce great cricket entertainment for our supporters,” Ganga commented.

“This is a great initiative I will support, and being part of it will be great to renew contacts with the fans in New York with (and) the Legends,” added legendary West Indies former test wicketkeeper Murray.

The tour kicks off with a Gala Banquet & Dinner on Friday, July 31st at Antun’s, 96-43 Springfield Boulevard, Queens, NY.
