News Americas, NEW YORK, NY, Mon. June 13, 2016: Cuba-born Grammy-winning singer Gloria Estefan shows she still has IT as she performed with the cast of On Your Feet!
Estefan joined Ana Villafañe, who plays her in the stage musical, for a medley of her greatest hits during their performance at the Tony Awards on Sunday night.
Villafañe, danced along to the singer’s singles “Rhythm Is Gonna Get You,” “Conga,” “Turn the Beat Around,” “Everlasting Love” and “On Your Feet.”
On Your Feet! is a jukebox musical based on the lives and music of husband and wife Emilio Estefan and Gloria Estefan. The musical has a book written by Alexander Dinelaris.
Estefan had earlier shared a heartfelt message on Instagram to the family and friends of the victims of the Orlando shooting.
“My heart breaks for the friends and families of the souls whose lives were taken by two senseless acts of violence in two days in Orlando, Florida, a place I consider my home,” she wrote.
“As these massacres become commonplace it becomes even more important for us to love each other as much as humanly possible and to never lose hope that we can somehow make things better. Love will always win and lead us through the darkness into the light…???”❤️✌May the souls of the victims rest in peace.”
