News Americas, QUEENS, NY, Thurs. July 6, 2017: A 27-year-old Queens-based, Guyana national has been remanded to prison following his appearance in Brooklyn federal Court Wednesday on murder charges.

Marcus Bisram, who was arrested in the Rockaways by members of the NYPD/U.S. Marshals Joint Fugitive Task Force on a murder charge, was denied bail in his appearance in Court

A Queens man wanted in Guyana for a 2016 murder was detained Wednesday following his appearance in Brooklyn federal court after federal prosecutors said: “Allowance of bail in any amount would not guarantee Bisram’s presence in court and would invite the possibility of embarrassing the United States in the conduct of its foreign affairs.”

Bisram is accused of masterminding the murder of Faiyaz Narinedatt last Oct. 31 .Narinedatt allegedly slapped Bisram after rejecting his sexual advances at a party, the Guyana Chronicle reported after the killing.

Bisram was so enraged, he enlisted four others — including two teenagers — to beat Narinedatt to death, according to the Chronicle.

The suspects admitted that they pummeled Narinedatt to death, put his body into the trunk of a car and took him to Village Road.

There they claim to have driven over his lifeless body to make it appear like he was the victim of a hit-and-run.

After the slaying, Bisram returned to his life in Arverne, Queens, where he runs the Marcus Brian Bisram Foundation, which is focused on “making better, brighter futures.”

Guyana will now have to request Bisram be extradited to answer murder charges there.

Bisram’s foundation profile says he was born in Number 70 Village, Corentyne, Guyana and attended Skeldon Line Path Secondary High school before migrating to the United States.

He later attended Hunter College, CUNY where he studied nursing.
