Hamilton By The Numbers – How The Story Of A 212 Year Old Dead Caribbean Immigrant Continues To Rake In The Dough

June 3, 2016: It’s been 212 years since America’s greatest immigrant, Nevis-born Alexander Hamilton, was laid to rest at the Trinity Church yard in Manhattan, but 212 years later, the Founding Father of the United States, founder of the nation’s financial system, founder of the Federalist Party, the world’s first voter-based political party, founder of the United States Coast Guard, and founder of The New York Post newspaper, continues to reign supreme, raking in the dough for a show created to tell his story by none other than a Caribbean-roots son – Lin Miranda.  According to the Fast Company analysis, here is exactly how the Broadway hit show on Hamilton’s life, Hamilton, is doing by the numbers:

1: The show has grossed some USD60 million in ticket sales on Broadway.

2: It actually sold $32 million in advance tickets before it even hit Broadway on August 2015.

3: USD 65-180 is the cost for a single ticket to see the musical as Hamilton star and creator Lin-Manuel Miranda set July 9, 2016 as the date he departs his hit show and US1,917,923 is how much the show grossed in one week ending May 29, 2016.

4: The cast’s recorded album reached number one on the Billboard Rap Chart the week of November 28, 2015 and against on the week of April 30, 2016.

5: US175,000 – is the reported advance paid to Lin Miranda to write Hamilton and has gone on to win a Tony and a Grammy Award for the show and his performance..

6: 106 is the number of different jewelry designs for sale on Etsy embossed with lyrics from the show.

7: $50 is the price of a ticket for one of two “Hamilton’s New York” walking tours in Hamilton Heights.

8: The total plays of the Hamilton soundtrack on Spotify is now past 148, 324,872.

9: The total number of views for the Hamilton musical on Youtube is now past 4.3 million.

10: 24 – is the number of week ron Chernow’s 2004 bio on Hamilton, on which the show is based, has spent on the New York times best seller list since the show began running on Broadway.
