News Americas, GEORGETOWN, Guyana, Fri. Aug. 5, 2016: A national vigil against violence in the Caricom South American nation of Guyana is set to coincide with World Suicide Prevention Day this year.

The “Voices Against Violence” vigil is currently being coordinated by The Caribbean Voice, Golden Om Dharmic Youth, Save Abee Foundation, Orchid Foundation, Anna Catherina Islamic Complex, NJASM, Art of Living (Guyana), Nirvana Humanirarian Foundation, Imagine Nation Foundation and GIVE Foundation and is set for September 10, 2016.

However, the organizations are urging other groups to join them in the effort in an attempt to get communities across Guyana involved in anti-violence activism, while fostering the concept of communal action for community well being.

Participants can simply bring groups together with candles or even cell phones in a protest march against violence.
