News Americas, CLEVELAND, Ohio, Fri. July 22, 2016: The Republican National Convention wrapped up officially in Cleveland, Ohio yesterday, July 21, 2016 but while we are pretty sure convention goers were not on the hunt for Caribbean or Jamaican food we thought we’d highlight five good spots you may want to check out if you live there or plan to visit:

1: Irie Patties

Many are raving about Irie Patties at 691 Richmond Road in
Richmond Heights, Ohio. It’s located inside the Food Court inside the Mall. The menu items includes patties of course as well as brown stewed chicken, oxtails, jerk chicken, pepper steak, plantains, rice and peas, cabbage and curry chicken. Irie Patties serves up some large portions so bring your appetite. Prices are also extremely cost effective.

2: Taste of Jamaica

Located in an inconspicuous strip mall hidden away from Mayfield Road at 5104 Mayfield Rd in Cleveland, Ohio, Taste Of Jamaica has fans talking about the delicious Jamaican food served up at this establishment.  The restaurant is fairly small with roughly 15 tables but it serves up a variety of Jamaican dishes including beef patties, jerk chicken, curry goat and oxtail served with rice and peas, fried plantains and cabbage. Prices here range between US $8 and 13.

3: Island Style

Island Style at is the go-to spot for many seeking Caribbean dishes like Curry and jerk chicken. The food is well seasoned and spicy as most Caribbean cuisine so be forewarned if spice is not your thing. The restaurant is located in not so a good of an area though at 2144 Noble Road in Cleveland, OH.

4: Bratenahl Kitchen

This restaurant, located in not such a good area at 14002 Lakeshore Blvd., Cleveland, OH, is still all the rave of lovers of patties. But apart from the delicious patties, Bratenahl serves up Oxtail, goat and jerk chicken dishes. The portions are huge at this little hole in the wall but you definitely want to check it out if you are craving some Caribbean cooking.

5: Ocho Rios True Island Cuisine
