News Americas, NEW YORK, NY, Fri. Aug. 15, 2014: It’s almost unbelievable but it’s true. Trinidad-born rapper, Nicki Minaj has bettered the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson’s record, for the most Billboard Hot 100 hits.

Minaj’s latest single ‘Anaconda’ debuted at number 19, giving the rapper her 51st Hot 100 hit, beating Jackson’s previous record of 50, Yahoo! Music reports.

Minaj made her chart debut in February 2010 when she featured on Lil Wayne’s ‘Knockout’, while her first as a lead artist came four months later with ‘Your Love’.

‘Made history today,’ Minaj announced on her Instagram account. ‘I didn’t even know I was tied with Michael Jackson with 50 Hot 100 entries on Billboard. Anaconda makes 51 and now I’m tied with Rod Stewart. God bless, and thank you.’

Jackson’s posthumous releases ‘Slave to the Rhythm’ and ‘Love Never Felt So Good’ became his 49th and 50th Hot 100 hits earlier this year.

Minaj will perform at the MTV Video Music Awards this Sunday in Inglewood, California to sing ‘Anaconda.’

It will be the third time the 31-year-old singer and rapper has performed at the annual ceremony.

MINAJ ‘CHATS’ JAMAICAN PATOIS

Minaj also gives fans a behind the scenes look at her video shoot for ‘Anaconda’ while also giving them her best Jamaican accent.

Hear Minaj speak Jamaican patois around 1:48 in the V-blog while admitting to being drunk.
