News Americas, MARIGOT, St. Martin, Mon. July 18, 2016: A 22-year-old St. Martin man accused of murdering a 21-year-old Belgian tourist has been found murdered as well.

The accused, who was transferred to Guadeloupe on Thursday, July 14th after admitting to murdering Wendy Montulet on July 9th as she was on a morning run, was found murdered in his cell in Guadeloupe on Friday morning, St. Martin news network reports indicate. The news network quoted Capitaine Emmanuel Maignan as saying the accused man was murdered in his cell by other inmates during the night of July 14th.

Unconfirmed reports states that the prisoner was killed by strangulation and or lynching. His body was found on Friday morning and his death is being investigated by justice authorities in Pointe-a -Pitre, Guadeloupe.

The young tourist’s body was found in the bushes in Baie Nettle on Sunday, July 10th after she failed to return to her hotel after a morning run on July 9th.

The now dead accused murderer had reportedly admitted to sexually assaulting Montulet and killing her with broken glass found on the ground in the bushes, slashing her several times, according to Advocate General Samuel Finielz.

Montulet had been vacationing with her family in St. Martin.
