News Americas, NEW YORK, NY, Fri. Oct. 30, 2015: The body of murdered Guyana-born NYPD officer, Randolph Holder, was yesterday flown to his native land by the locally-owned carrier, Fly Jamaica.
Randolph Holder Sr. along with his wife Princess and dozens of family members, friends and NYPD officers accompanied the body to Guyana. The cop, who was murdered by a previously convicted criminal in Harlem, will be buried in his native land following a funeral there tomorrow, Saturday, October 31, 2015.
According to Guyanese activist Mark Benschop, Fly Jamaica owners, Guyana-born Captain Paul Ronald Reece and Roxanne Reece helped ensure that the body of the late NYPD cop who was promoted Wednesday to detective by NYPD chief Bill Bratton, was flown home in time for his funeral.
The airline also presented Mr. and Mrs. Holder, Sr. with two complimentary First Class round trip tickets and offered First Class seats for the NYPD casket bearers and between 50 and 75 percent discounts off ticket prices for dozens of family members and NYPD officers flying to the South American nation.
Thousands of cops, including several former Guyana police officers, stood shoulder-to-shoulder in rainy conditions to bid adieu to the fallen officer Wednesday in Queens, NY.
The .40-caliber weapon that police believe was used to kill Holder, 33, came to East Harlem from South Carolina, police said. Tyrone (Peanut) Howard, 30, was arrested after Officer Holder’s partner shot him in the leg as the suspect tried to flee the murder scene in East Harlem.
