Now John Cahill wants the post of New York State Attorney General.
Cahill is set to make his formal announcement this coming weekend, days ahead of the state Republican nominating convention.
But according to the New York Daily News, he has decided to run incumbent Eric Schneiderman because he “believes it’s a winnable race.”
The Yonkers resident now shares a law practice with Pataki. He received a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Fordham University. He earned his law degree, as well as a master’s degree in Environmental Law, from the Pace University School of Law.
Cahill advised the Governor Pataki on a wide array of critical policy issues during the governor’s time in office. In 2005, the Governor announced that Cahill would be taking center stage to represent Albany in the World Trade Center rebuild and in facilitating the project’s forward momentum.
Prior to joining the Pataki ‘s staff in February 2001, Cahill spent more than five years with the Department of Environmental Conservation, including four as Commissioner. In December 2006, Pataki named him to a seven year term on the State Commission of Investigation.
