FX makes deal with Dr. Dre for drama pilot

NEW YORK (TheWrap.com) – FX has closed a script development deal with Dr. Dre and writer Sidney Quashie for a one-hour drama pilot that will explore present-day Los Angeles through "the music business and the crime business," the network announced. The big question: Is there a role for the Tupac hologram? Quashie is the creator and executive producer and Dre the executive producer. Daniel Schnider is a co-executive producer for Dre's Crucial TV. Brad Bertner is also a co-executive producer. Dre started Crucial Films in 2007 with a first-look deal at New Line. …
