News Americas, NEW YORK, NY, Fri. May 8, 2015: The Chinese haute couture designer who designed the much joked about yellow gown Bajan star Rihanna choose to wear to the Met Gala Monday night says the dress weighed in at a whopping 55 pounds.
Guo Pei said at an exclusive dinner hosted by MAC Cosmetics on Tuesday that Rihanna came across the gown online and contacted her for an original piece from the royalty-inspired collection ‘A Thousand and Two Nights.’
She said Rihanna’s dress took two years to make since she stitched it all together and insists the singer and actress “is wearing this dress for entertainment — not for a fashion show.”
Rihanna’s outfit complete with a golden robe, almost instantly sparked some hilarious memes that started circulated on Twitter, The robe was transformed into various images, including a pizza crust and omelet.
