Current Issue of the Economist.

By Arthur Piccolo

News Americas, NEW YORK, NY, Fri. July 7, 2017: Did my publisher forget to trademark “Trump’s America?” I guess so.

Well The Economist will have only one issue of “Trump’s America” but here you get Trump’s America every week. And for FREE – unlike the expensive Economist subscription I can’t afford it but I sacrifice for you my readers!

So what exactly does The Economist think of Trump’s America? Not much!

“Mr. Trump won power partly because he spoke for voters who feel that the system is working against them, as our special report this week sets out. He promised that, by dredging Washington of the elites and lobbyists too stupid or self-serving to act for the whole nation, he would fix America’s politics.”

“His approach is not working. Five months into his first term, Mr. Trump presides over a political culture that is even more poisonous than when he took office.”

Sorry Trumpians.

NEW WORD ALERT …. Trumpians! Invented here right now.

Back to The Economist …

“Mr. Trump has also fueled the mistrust. He has correctly identified areas where America needs reform, but botched his response—partly because of his own incontinent ego. Take tax. No one doubts that America’s tax code is a mess, stuffed full of loopholes and complexity. But Mr. Trump’s reform plans show every sign of turning into a cut for the rich that leaves the code as baffling as ever. So, too, healthcare. Instead of reforming Obamacare, Republicans are in knots over a bill that would leave millions of Mr. Trump’s own voters sicker and poorer.”

That’s right Trumpians (not my readers I hope) – Trump spells HYPOCRISY.

There is more …

“As harmful as what Mr. Trump does is the way he does it. In the campaign he vowed to fight special interests. But his solution – to employ business people too rich for lobbyists to buy – is no solution at all. Just look at Mr. Trump himself: despite his half-hearted attempts to disentangle the presidency and the family business, nobody knows where one ends and the other begins.”

And this flourish …

“In principle it is not too late for Mr. Trump to embrace bipartisanship and address the real issues. In practice, it is ever clearer that he is incapable of bringing about such a renaissance. That will fall to his successor.”

That just the beginning. The issue has an entire SPECIAL report on Trump. With articles titled :The power of group think,” “Revelations,” “Taking out the white trash,” “A town called liberal.” And “White House Windows.”

None of it favorable to Donald Trump the them is Trump as divisive.

The entire report concludes with this …

“It is extraordinary that such a prosperous, peaceful, fortunate country, with such deep democratic traditions, could have arrived at this point, but it has. “So strong is this propensity of mankind to fall into mutual animosities, that where no substantial occasion presents itself, the most frivolous and fanciful distractions have been sufficient to kindle their unfriendly passions and excite their most violent conflicts,” wrote James Madison in Federalist Paper No 10. The Trump presidency could yet go in several directions. The one that seems definitely blocked is the route back to a land where it is rare to think that political opponents deserve to be beaten up. Perhaps that country no longer exists.”

Enough now! I am done with the other “Trump’s America.” Mine is better. What this Economist edition should most be remembered for is inspiring me to invent the NEW word Trumpians, except checking Google, it appears it was already invented. But obviously not widely used. You never heard it did you?

I could turn to more substantial matters involving President Donald Trump but having written a very long episode last week I think I will rest on my laurels this week as Trump travels through Europe kicking up a storm.

It will be interesting to see what if anything comes of his meeting with Vladimir Putin after I go to press. It is the most anticipated meeting of the Trump Presidency so far. Everyone in Washington and especially the so called Democrat leaders are continuing their campaign to demonize Putin way beyond all the other  unsavory characters around the world. Yes even beyond the ultimate thug the so called North Korea leader what’s his name.

The logical move in U.S. interest would be for Trump to make a deal with Putin and Russia to join forces with us against North Korea and their Chinese  enablers. Instead the Democrats along with Republican jerks and of course CNN “cheer leading” bashing Trump and Putin, are doing everything possible to make that impossible and as a result Putin joining with the Chinese in going easy on North Korea making it that much more likely they will soon have nuclear weapons on missiles that can reach the United States.

That is how far American clowns pushing their Russian fantasy about Russia stealing the election to make Trump President how far they will go even if it means “assisting” North Korea being able to nuke the United States.
